Oven Operator

Torrance, CA

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assuring that a high quality and safe product is produced and baked.

Essential Job Functions

  • Set up baking programs and test all equipment. 
  • Monitor oven temperatures and adjust controls as needed to ensure proper baking
  • Inspect baked pies for quality, including color, texture, and aroma
  • Load and unload trays of pies into ovens using appropriate equipment
  • Set up and verify printer.
  • Complete the required paperwork and report to upper management when machine repairs are needed. 
  • Train new hires. 
  • Notify upper management of non-conforming products and the supervisor or manager when accidents or incidents occur

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor
  • Monitors and enforces cGMPs
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs

Education, Skills & other Requirements:

  • Ability to understand verbal and written direction in English and/or Spanish.
  • Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 Lbs.
  • Frequently push/pull up to 50 Lbs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Adaptability to multi-shift environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand/walk for 8+ hours.
  • Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 Lbs.
  • Frequently push/pull up to 50 Lbs.
  • Ability to walk through production areas
  • Exposure to temperature change
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Hearing ability with appropriate protection in high-noise areas. Wear proper footwear

Supervisor: Production Supervisor

Pay rate: $18.25 - $19.00 per hour.

Schedule: Must be able to work any shift.
